A couple of the lads “buggered off” to the local pubPosted: July 1, 2010
“The welder came over for his laptop and we buggered off to the White Lion, one of the few proper old pubs left in this town.
When we’re playing laptops, we usually go in the lounge where it’s quiet, but today, there was a funeral party in there and trying to show the welder what I had done on his machine whilst competing against Twisted Sister proved to be unworkable, so we decamped to the bar, which I also like.
They’d overcatered (big time) for the funeral party and as is quite common in pubs, when the people concerned have eaten, they share the food with all the other pub goers.”
Thus begins a delightful post by Fez #31 (and featuring Fez #37) that offers a brief glimpse of the special world of English pubs. They weren’t wearing their fezzes but you’ll understand why when you see the darling cap atop #31.
